The Explorer Compass boasts a range of remarkable features for reliable navigation. Its 2 3/4" dial is easily readable, with a direct reading design. The compass is adjustable and removable, featuring a bracket and thumbscrews for convenient customization. Inside, the compass is equipped with green night illumination for visibility in low-light conditions.

Built-in compensators allow for simple adjustment to account for deviation, ensuring accurate headings. The scientific pairing of a sapphire jewel and hardened steel pivot ensures a smooth, precise dial movement. Powerful directive-force magnets provide a rapid heading lock-on function, while the movable sun shield protects against glare.

Constructed with high-temperature composite materials, this compass is built to withstand extended use across a wide operational range. Ritchie's exclusive 5-year warranty backs the compass, underscoring its rugged reliability. With an approximate shipping weight of 1 lb (454g), the Explorer Compass is a compact, durable navigation tool.

A protective cover, model E-50-C, is available for the compass. Replacement parts, including a 12V or 6V light assembly (EX-0005-2 or EX-0099-2, respectively) and thumbscrews (SH-0077XSP), can be ordered. The bracket, model EX-0004XSP, is also available as a replacement.

Please note that all compasses are supplied with standard 12V lighting. A 24V lighting option is also offered. Some custom-built OEM models may feature different lighting configurations. For replacement lighting inquiries, customers are advised to contact Ritchie directly.
